Ingredients needed: pitcher of lemonade, water, sugar, red raspberries, limoncello, vodka, and mint leaves.

You’ll need the following to make raspberry lemonade cocktail:

  • Lemonade – You can make your own following our recipe or use store bought lemonade. This cocktail recipe is based around using a 1/2 gallon of lemonade.
  • Granulated Sugar – To add raspberry flavor, we use a raspberry simple syrup, which needs sugar.
  • Red Raspberries – We like to use fresh raspberries, but you could also use frozen if that’s what you have on hand. If desired, you may want to have extra on hand for garnishing each glass.
  • Water – You use this to make the simple syrup.
  • Spirits – We use both vodka and limoncello. You could use flavored vodkas like raspberry vodka if you like, but straight vodka also works just fine. You can find limoncello at many liquor stores, or you can make your own following our limenocello recipe.

You do not need any really fancy equipment, but these tools may help:

How to Make Raspberry Lemonade Cocktail

1. Make the raspberry simple syrup.

Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small pot and gently heat using a medium-low setting.

Continously stir the sugar with a whisk or fork until it fully dissolves.

This takes about 2 minutes.

Once the suger dissolves, add in the raspberries.

Stir frequently for about 2 minutes or until the raspberries start to lose their form and release their juices, turning the water pink to red.

If needed, use a spoon to gently squeeze out additional syrup from the raspberry bits.

It produces about 1.5 to 1.75 cups of raspberry simple syrup.

2. Combine lemonade, raspberry simple syrup, vodka, and limencello.

Allow the raspberry simple syrup to cool down some before combining with the lemonade.

It is easiest to just combine the lemonade and raspberry simple syrup in the pitcher you plan to serve it in.

If serving a small group or mixed drinkers and non-drinkers, you may want to add the vodka and limencello to each glass served.

We add an ounce of each vodka and limencello to each glass.

If you just want to add the alcohol to the pitcher, you can do that instead.

Add an ounce of both vodka and limoncello to the pitcher per glass you plan to serve.

So it you have 8 people, add 8 ounces of vodka and 8 ounces of limencello to the pitcher.

You can add more or less, based on how strong you want each drink.

Once you add the alcohol to each glass, top off with the raspberry lemonade.

Before serving, you can add some raspberries into the glass, cut a lemon wedge to rim the glass, or add a mint leaf or two.

If you like, you can rim each glass with sugar by wetting each empty glass’ top and dipping it into a bowl of sugar.

Serving raspberry lemonade cocktail can be simple or fancy.

Having a backyard barbeque? Serve it in that red solo cup.

Dinner party? Pour the raspberry lemonade cocktail into a wine glass with raspberries, lemon wedges, and some mint leaves.

Really want to dress it up? Rim the glasses with sugar for added sparkle and fun.

Also, don’t feel limited to using only vodka and limoncello.

Mix it up a bit if you like, for example, skipping the limoncello or using a flavored vodka.

Storing

You can absolutely make raspberry lemonade cocktail ahead of time.

We recommend storing it in an air tight container or pitcher for ease of serving later.

It should last for about 3 to 5 days in the fridge.

Tips and Tricks

  • You can serve the raspberry lemonade cocktail as simple raspberry lemonade. You can then offer vodka, limoncello, or other spirits to make the cocktail in each glass. This is a good option if you plan to serve the drinks at a mixed gathering with children and adults that do not drink.
  • Flavored vodka can add extra zip to the raspberry lemonade, but this may not always be a wanted change. Make sure to test out the flavors a bit before adding a flavored vodka to an entire pitcher.
  • Limoncello compliments lemonade nicely, but you do not have to use it. Simply adding vodka can work well too.
