A full turkey Unsalted Butter Garlic- lots and lots of garlic! Fresh herbs Citrus zest Salt and pepper

Make the butter baste in a food processor

Food process the butter, herbs, and a portion of the garlic until smooth to make a garlic herb butter that will baste the turkey.

Put cut heads of garlic in the roasting pan underneath where the turkey will lay

Add cut heads of garlic to the bottom of a roasting pan. Set the the roasting rack over the pan.

Slather the turkey in garlic butter, making sure to rub it into and under the skin.

Rub the garlic herb butter onto and under the turkey's skin.

Roast the turkey, breast side down for the first 45 minutes at a higher heat. After 45 minutes, turn the bird over, lower the heat and baste the bird in the butter drippings. Baste regularly.

Garlic Butter Basted Turkey is the star of the Thanksgiving or Christmas table this holiday season.

When the turkey reaches 165 degrees, take it out of the oven and let it rest before carving.
