What I’m Wednesday 12
Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Reading
The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice – I mean I should have expected it would be totally cheesy…but so far it is totally cheesy. And that’s saying a lot for someone who lives and breathes Hallmark Channel and will read those books. But it’s cute and fun and a nice read while I snuggle under my fluffy blanket.
Watching
I’m STILL watching the last season of Jane the Virgin. I have three more episodes to go. Maybe by the time I am writing this post next week, I’ll be done with it. Still having fun with it, but really as a writer I have to say Jane hears back from all the editors and agents awfully quick. I love that I can suspend disbelief about every other wacky part of the plot- a baby via accidental artificial insemination? Plausible. A dead husband who isn’t really dead but has amnesia? Sure. Why not. But hearing back from every single place she submitted her book to within a month? NOPE.
Also finally catching up on the last season of This is Us. We watched up until the episode before Kate had the baby. I didn’t think I could handle watching a preemie baby in the nicu last winter given that we lived that last winter. But I’m trying it now. I want to be able to watch again when it starts up.
Wearing
This amazingly fun witch sweatshirt. (NOT an affiliate link.) I JUST CAN’T HELP MYSELF. Double sided sparkle witch for a grown up? Yes please.
Eating
This end of summer corn and zucchini chowder. My daughter likes to watch the Food Network and we watched an episode of Pioneer Woman together and watched her make this corn chowder in her Instant Pot. We tried my version in the Instant Pot minus putting the dairy in until the end (which was almost a disaster.)
Also- went apple picking so enjoying lots of fresh apples. I’ll go to pick at least 3 or 4 more times. Any apple things I should make? What do you want recipes for? I’m not feeling super inspired other than to just eat them but that could change.
Drinking
Ohhhhh I have the best recipe coming up for you guys. The ultimate in fall cocktail. Yes, more fall than my white apple sangria. Stay tuned.
Doing
Lots of things!
First up: squeezing in one more trip to the beach. We happened to go on the last 90 degree day we had last week and it was great. It felt like summer but the beach was quiet. We ran the kids into the ground and everyone slept really well for a few nights afterwards.
Next: having so much fun with my best high school girlfriends, minus one, baking scads and scads of pumpkin rolls. My one friend and I have done this before but another good friend joined us this year and of course the kids and it was just so fun hanging out with these girls I’ve known and loved forever eating a poor man’s charcuterie board and making so many batches of pumpkin rolls.
Speaking of baking… guys. Homegoods. ALL THE FALL SPRINKLES. I am fully stocked. I will be doing things with sprinkles. Probably starting tomorrow.
