What I’m Wednesday 46
Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Forgetting
Apparently forgetting what day of the week it is! Opps! It’s Thursday. I totally thought today was Wednesday. My bad. Quarantine has made all my days bleed together into one big haze. I’m not even sure what month it is. Is it April? May? June? Who knows?
Doing
Enjoying being outside. We have been soaking up time in the late afternoons playing with the kids on their new swing set and trying to grow a vegetable garden. We even have been eating outside on our patio, which is something we haven’t done since before we had kids. It’s been nice melting into this season of lazy summer afternoons and evenings. Of course, as I type this, it’s raining here and there will be no patio sitting or swinging but you know.
Reading
I have gone down the insomnia fueled rabbit hole of reading romance novels on my phone when I can’t sleep. I’m ashamed to admit that my habits when I can’t sleep are nothing short of mind candy. I’m currently reading book 3 of the Rourke series and you guys it’s so ridiculously bad, but I kind of can’t look away.
In other reading things, I finished Lily King’s Writers and Lovers. Honestly, this was not a book I’d pick up again for fun. It was frustrating to read and then ultimately the main character wound up with the man I wasn’t rooting for. Also, I felt like it moved a bit slow the whole way through and I never really got into it.
Eating
We’ve been grilling a ton and making burgers like these pineapple barbecue burgers and throwing sweet potato fries on the grill. And because it’s been warm and getting muggy, we’ve been doing smoothies in the morning- mainly this sunshine citrus berry smoothie. I’ve been playing with a pineapple mango smoothie too but no kidding my daughter gets mad if I don’t make the pink smoothies. Oh, and also doing homemade lemon pesto hummus for lunch with cucumber slices.
Listening to
My son growl, “MAMA NO NO NO.” Seriously, let’s unpack this. First, he’s actually growling. I can’t make that up. He lowers his voice and grunts out his words in this throaty garble that sounds exactly like an annoyed, but harmless, dog trying to growl and failing miserably because it’s too cute to be menacing. Second, he only whines my name. He can say Dada, but when he whines…. only MAMA. And third, really buddy? You had to learn, “No!” right now? Can’t you learn something adorable like doggy?
That’s it for me this week! What are you up to? How are you all holding up? Leave me a comment and let me know!
