What I’m Wednesday 56
Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Feeling
Intense fomo. Every year the end of summer makes my anxiety crazy because I want to cram all the summer stuff that I feel like we haven’t done enough of into the last few weeks. But this year it’s super weird because we haven’t done any of the summer things we normally do. There’s been no trip to the beach, no swimming, no playing at the splash pads or going to carnivals. I mean obviously that’s fine, but it’s weird because even though I intellectually know we can’t do those things this year, my fomo does not realize this.
Life in my mind is super fun.
Doing
So even though I’m mourning the summer that wasn’t I am moving full steam ahead into the best time of the year- Fall! We had a gloriously gray cool day over the weekend and I dug my fall decorations out and baked pumpkin goodies. My house felt so cozy. Love it.
Watching
We finished watching Nailed It: Holidays and I’m so sad! That show was a ton of fun to watch as a family.
My husband and I started the absolute train wreck that is Love is Blind and oh boy. I have so many feelings about this catastrophe. SO MANY FEELINGS. Some of the contestants are the actual worst. And I’m sorry it’s total bull that people can fall in love in those intensely manufactured circumstances. When the couples that have gotten engaged meet face to face for the first time, it’s so awkward. There’s no way any good can come of these situations.
Reading
I finished Love at First Like by Hannah Orenstein. The main character really stressed me out right up until the end. But the ending was really satisfying so I ended up really liking the book on a whole.
Also, because I’ve been addicted to dystopian young adult novels lately (WHO AM I EVEN? When I first read Hunger Games, I couldn’t sleep for like a month because of it.), I binge read the Princess Trials series. It was much more disturbing than the Selection series but it was really exciting and I can’t wait til December to read the last book.
Eating
This gnocchi Caprese! It is hands down my favorite meal of the summer. So good!
Loving
My blow dryer died last week. Instead of replacing it with a regular dryer I finally bought that Revlon all in one brush styler. WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG? This thing is life changing. We’re talking it easily dries my hair in under ten minutes and the results look like I just got a blowout from a salon. I adore it. I’ve actually done my hair 3 times this week, which is super unheard of, because this thing takes all the hassle out and leaves me with a good hair day. Highly recommend.
That’s it for me this week! What are you up to? How are you all holding up? Leave me a comment and let me know!
