It’s a momentous occasion on this blog today.
I made you guys these boozy lemonade slushies, a drink that is neither pink nor sparkly.
(See also: Pomegranate Rose Spritzers, Cranberry Champagne Cocktails, and Raspberry Champagne Cocktails. I have a serious problem.)Weird right? And yes, I’m feeling ok.
Even weirder?
This non pink, adult lemonade slushie is one of my favorite drinks ever.
(Side note: If you want it to be pink use Easy to Make Blueberry Lemonade instead of plain lemonade or stir in raspberry or blueberry simple syrup!)
It’s one of those drinks that doesn’t feel like you are actually drinking alcohol.
No burning, no aftertaste. Just so much lemon flavor and alcoholic slushie fun.
When the weather gets warm, that’s all I want- lemon, citrus, frozen drink fun that tastes just like summer, sunshine, and lemonade.
Ingredients and Kitchen Supplies
To make these you’ll need:
- Lemonade: Your favorite brand or homemade recipe. Pour it into ice cube trays and freeze it.
- Alcohol: You’ll want both lemon flavored vodka and Limoncello.
- Garnish: Sugar to rim your glasses and lemon wedges
Kitchen supplies to have on hand include:
- Ice cube trays: To freeze the lemonade
- Measuring cups
- A jigger
- A high powered blender
- Cocktail glasses: I like these in stemless wine glasses but any cocktail glass works
- Other fun serving items: These boozy lemonade slushies practically beg to have a little paper umbrella stuck in them. No? Just me?
How to Make a Boozy Lemonade Slushie
1. Freeze the lemonade for the cocktails.
Pour the lemonade out into two ice cube trays. Put the trays into the freezer until the lemonade is frozen into ice cubes.
2. Blend the lemonade slushies.
When the lemonade ice cubes are frozen, put them into a blender with 2 ounces of lemon vodka and 1 cup of limoncello. Blend the lemonade slushies until smooth.
3. Prepare the glasses.
To rim the cocktail glasses with sugar, cut a slit in a lemon wedge and run the wedge around the edge of the glass. Dip the lemoned glasses into a shallow bowl of sugar.
4. Serve and enjoy!
Pour the boozy lemonade slushies into the glasses. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Enjoy!
FAQs
What is limoncello exactly?
Limoncello is an Italian liqueur from southern Italy that tastes like sunshine and lemonade. It is essentially made from soaking lemon zest into vodka. You can read more about it here.
Can you freeze these alcoholic slushies?
I never have frozen them after making them. In theory you could though because of the limoncello and vodka in the lemonade, they will not freeze solid. You may also want to pop them back in a blender to mix them up if you do freeze them.

Oh my god, I need to try this recipe! the drink looks soooo good. But can I leave out the vodka ? I don’t really drink alcohol.
Yashin
Sure. Limoncello is also alcohol so you may want to leave that out as well. So I’d just sub more non frozen lemonade to get the slush consistency.
Now these would have been perfect today! Hopefully the hot weather sticks around so that I can try these out.
It’s finally getting nice here. Hope it is for you too and you can enjoy one of these.
OMG these look delish. I was pregnant for the first part of the summer and then didn’t do much fun drinking besides a beer here or there in that first month or so SOOOO ya girl is going to be getting her yummy booze time on! Definitely making this!!
OMG enjoy!
This seems like such a great Summer idea! Lemonade is the best on a hot day, and boozy lemonade can only be better!
This recipe sounds wonderful. Especially since I make my own Lemoncello.
Thank you Kathy! I’m curious about how you make your own limoncello. Is it difficult to do?
We are drink sisters! I love Chik Fil A lemonades and I love, love, love limoncello. This recipe looks similar to my recipe for a Limoncello Martini. But, I really love slushy drinks so I think I’m going to have to put your recipe in my summer rotation! Pinned!
