“Sweet tea in the summer. Cross my heart, won’t tell no other.”

Any other Swifties here?

And if you’re here, did you wait for the 12:12 announcement of TS 12?

Well, my friends, I totally Swifted out last night with my daughter and waited and I am sharing such a fun Taylor Swift Folklore inspired recipe with this one and plan on doing at least 12- one for each era and this is my first!

It’s sweet Swift-tea if you will.

This homemade peach tea recipe gives me serious Folklore vibes thanks to that line from seven even more than my homemade iced tea.

Something about the August-ness of the peaches.

Every time I take a sip of this sweet peach iced tea, I hear the line in my head… or in my airpods if I’m honest since there’s at least a 90 percent chance I’ve got her music playing.

This peach tea is sweet like summer sunshine and refreshing.

And when you make a batch of peach simple syrup, this is one the best ways to enjoy it.

The sweet peach notes compliment brewed tea and you can control just how sweet you want your tea.

So, pull up a chair on your porch and sip it in the August sun with some Taylor playing on your radio.

Here’s what you need for homemade peach tea:

  • Brewed Black Tea – You can use regular or decaf if you prefer. Choose your favorite brand. You’ll need about 6 cups of water and two black tea bags to make your own.
  • Peach Simple Syrup – Don’t have any on hand? We’ll go over briefly how to make it, or you can check our peach simple syrup recipe for more detailed instructions. For peach simple syrup, you’ll need equal parts water and sugar and a single peach.
  • Peaches – We slice them and put them into the tea pitcher, similar to a peach sangria, just without alcohol. You can also use sliced peaches to add some flair to the glasses.

You really don’t need any equipment for peach tea, but you should get the following items out:

How to Make Peach Tea

1. Make the peach simple syrup.

This is a quick run down, for more details you can follow our peach simple syrup recipe.

Add a cup of water and a cup of sugar to a small sauce pot.

Heat over medium low heat and whisk until the sugar fully dissolves.

Wash, peel, and cut a peach into smaller pieces and add it to the pot of sugar water.

Allow to gently simmer for about 10 minutes.

Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, and then strain the peaches out.

2. Brew your tea.

Bring 6 cups of water to a boil in a large pot with 2 tea bags.

Remove from heat and allow the tea to seep for at least 5 minutes.

The longer it sits, the stronger the tea will be.

Once it cools to about room temperature, carefully pour the tea into a pitcher, removing the tea bags if you have not already done so.

3. Mix the peach tea.

Pour 1 cup of peach simple syrup into the pitcher of tea and give it a mix.

Give the pitcher a quick mix.

You can give it a taste now.

If it is not sweet enough for your liking, you can add more peach simple syrup.

If you do not have any more peach simple syrup, you can either make a little more or heat up equal parts of a water and sugar, mixing until dissolved, to create a simple syrup and add it to the tea.

If it is good, you are ready to serve.

Serving

Serve with over ice and with more sliced peaches.

Serve peach tea with ice filled glasses.

You can garnish the glasses with peach slices if you like.

You can serve it with your favorite meals or snacks or just enjoy a glass at the end of a hot summer day.

Storing

Serve with over ice and with more sliced peaches.

Peach tea should stay fresh in your fridge for about 3 to 5 days.

You’ll get a bit more life out of it by not adding peaches directly to the pitcher.

Not sure why you’d want to, but you could freeze peach tea.

To serve again, just let it, you know, come up to temperature so it is no longer a solid.

Tips and Tricks

  • You could spike the tea if you like, adding a few shots of peach schnapps to the pitcher for an adult drink.
  • You do not have to add sliced peaches to the pitcher. These will generally shorten the shelf life of the tea, but they can also add a bit more peach flavor as they sit in the tea.
  • If you do not have a large pot, you can heat up the water and pour directly into a pitcher if your pitcher can accept hot liquids. You should double check that before adding boiling water to anything though.
  • Adjust the amount of peach flavor to your liking. 1 cup, as written in this recipe, will give you a background of peachy flavor. If you want more peach flavor or want sweeter tea in general, double the amount of simple syrup.
