Here’s what you need to make homemade pumpkin spice coffee creamer:

  • Half and Half – You can also use regular milk, light cream, or a non-dairy alternative.
  • Maple Syrup – This gives the pumpkin spice creamer a bit of a sweet flavor without being over-powering. You could also use honey or another syrup, but maples syrup has more of a fall-like taste.
  • Pumpkin Puree – This gives the pumpkin flavor. Don’t worry, it works well in both tea and coffee.
  • Spices – We use a combination of pumpkin spice (a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves) and cinnamon. We ussually just add finely grated spices to the creamer, but if that bothers you, you can use whole spices in the creamer or use a cheese cloth to allow the spices to seep into the creamer.

You only need common household items to make pumpkin spice creamer, unless you want to use a cheese cloth to seep the spices.

You can make homemade pumpkin spice creamer in the beginning of the week and serve it with your morning coffee all week long.

To store, allow the creamer to come down to room temperature and then place in a sealable container.

We often use lidded mason jars, but just about any container will work as long as it can hold liquid.

You do not need to reheat to serve unless you want it warm.

To reheat, pour some into a pot and heat over low heat until steamy or place in a microwave safe mug and heat for a few seconds.

Tips and Tricks

Productes about a cup and half.
  • Don’t use too high a heat setting! This can burn the cream accidently or get it too hot. You want it to be steamy, not simmering or boiling.
  • You can use whole spices or a cheese cloth if you like. We find that the spices tend to break down enough to not be very noticeable, but if you really like a smooth drink with no grit whatsoever, then use whole spices or a cheese cloth.
  • This homemade pumpkin spice coffee creamer provides some sweetness. Don’t make the mistake my hubs made and add the regular about of sugar you like and then the creamer. It can cause your coffee to become sickeningly sweet, even for someone like me who loves coffee with her sugar.
  • This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of creamer.
