What I’m Wednesday 16
Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Feeling
Peak coziness. It’s raining and chilly. My fireplace is on. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are doing their thing on my tv in You’ve Got Mail. I’m under a warm fluffy blanket. The crockpot is on and bolognese sauce is making the house smell absolutely delicious. Ahhhh.
Reading
The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain. I read a couple chapters and had to set it down. I’m finding it too heavy given that it is Infant Loss month and the book has some hard themes so I’m back into the Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice. I’m half through. It’s light and fluffy and not terribly good but not terribly bad either. It’s sort of a Hallmark book in movie form. Just what I need right now. Does anyone else have any book suggestions? Feeling light, no heavy reads. No death. Fun rom coms please.
Watching
I am watching all the cheesy things right now. Obviously, I just told you You’ve Got Mail is currently playing in the background. I’m feeling a Meg Ryan marathon coming on because honestly her movies are made for fall. When Harry Met Sally is on my watch list this week.
Also, we’ve watched Hocus Pocus for the thousandth time and we all watched Hotel Transylvania for the first time this week. That movie was so cute! My 5 year old loved it and the movie held our attention well, which is saying something for a kid’s movie.
In cheesy things I’m watching on Netflix, I just finished the cheesiest of all the cheesy things I have ever watched on Netflix: Tall Girl. Ugh. I have feelings about this one. It was a predictable teen romcom that wasn’t done well. I loathed Jodie and quite frankly hated the guys in it too. Jodie was self absorbed and uncomfortable. Plus the scenes with the love interest made me cringe in embarrassment for her. Kind of like Never Been Kissed meets a trainwreck, it was uncomfortable and I couldn’t look away.
We also started Stumptown with Colbie Smulders and Jake Johnson. So far so good. I’ll be interested to see how it develops.
Eating
Currently making my crock pot bolognese. So good!
We just ate a batch of these cute pumpkin patch brownies. My 5 year old loves them and our pumpkin Oreos. We have a couple more Halloween treats coming this week too.
Also made a big batch of my vegetable soup with quinoa. That’s been dinner quite a few times this week. And working on a delicious pumpkin recipe to share with you next week. Stay tuned.
Drinking
Still crushing on my homemade Cinderella Lattes. Been drinking them all day every day. Is there anything better than a hot coffee on a cool fall day?
In the cocktail department, I’ve been loving these pumpkin spice white Russians. It’s like a fluffy cloud of pumpkin spice. You need them.
Doing
Getting family photos taken. My lovely friend Kate was in town this weekend and did fabulous photos of us. And can I just tell you? The kids had the cutest outfits. A baby boy in suspenders, a bow tie, and a hat might be the cutest thing in the world. I swoon every time I look at my little stud muffin in that outfit. And this picture was just a snap shot not even one of our family photos.
That’s it for me this week! What are you up to? Leave me a comment and let me know!
