Blueberry Compote

A simple blueberry compote that comes together in a few minutes. It makes an excellent topping for waffles, pancakes, cheesecakes, and more.

Equipment

  • 1 small pot
  • 1 set of measuring cups
  • 1 mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Rinse the blueberries and add them to your pot.
  • Pour the water and sugar into the pot and heat over low to medium-low heat.
  • Stir frequently, allowing the sugar to dissovle.
  • Allow to come to a simmer and remove from heat when most of the blueberries have burst and the water and blueberries have.a deep purple color.
  • Once you take the compote off heat, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before storing or serving.
