Blueberry Simple Syrup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup blueberries

Instructions

  • Whisk the sugar and water together in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  • Keep whisking and cooking until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the blueberries and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  • Let the mixture keep simmering until the blueberries burst and the liquid turns purple, about 5 minutes or so.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Set a mesh strainer over a jar or container. Pour the blueberry simple syrup through the strainer into the jar, letting all the liquid drip out of the strainer.
  • Discard the blueberry solids left in the strainer.
  • Chill the simple syrup until ready to use and enjoy!
