Ingredients

  • 8-10 peaches (or about two drained cans of peaches)
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar (divided into 1 cup and 1/2 cup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the peaches into slices. If using canned peaches, drain the cans.
  • Toss the sliced peaches with 1 cup of brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and the corn starch.
  • Spread the peach mixture out in a 9x13" casserole dish sprayed with nonstick spray.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the cake mix, the remaining half cup of brown sugar, and a stick of melted butter until it forms clumps that look like wet sand.
  • Spread the cake mix mixture over the peaches in an even layer.
  • Bake at 350 for x minutes.
  • Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.
