Ingredients
16ouncebox of gnocchi
20ouncescrushed tomatoes
2tablespoonsolive oil
8ouncesfresh mozzarella cheese
3tablespoonsfresh basil (chopped)
4-6clovesgarlic
1pinchsalt
1pinchpepper
1 pinch red pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400.
Boil a pot of water and add gnocchi.
Cook gnocchi until about 6 start to float to the top of the pot.
As the gnocchi cooks, heat olive oil over medium heat in a large oven safe skillet.
Once warm, add crushed garlic and saute until fragrant, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes or tomato puree.
Add in as much salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes as you like. You can omit all of these if you prefer.
Once the gnocchi finishes, drain the water or use a slotted spoon to transfer to the sauce pan.
Gently mix the gnocchi with the sauce and remove from heat.
Top with fresh mozzarella cheese and place in the oven.
Bake for abou 15 minutes or until the cheese gets bubbly.
Remove from oven and top with fresh basil before serving. You may also mix the basil into the sauce at this point.
Serve and enjoy.

Notes
Do not over cook the gnocchi. Only boil until the first few start to float.Add in additional cheeses if you like either on top or directly into the sauce.Do not add the basil until it is done baking to prevent it from becoming bitter.
