Ground chicken taco meat is what we serve on Taco Tuesdays - which is pretty much every week for us! And why not? It is a super simpe, fast weeknight dinner that the whole family eats every time.
4tablespoonsolive oil(canola oil or vegetable oil works too)
3tablespoonschili powder
2tablespoonscumin powder
2tablespoonsonion powder or flakes
2tablespoonsgarlic powder
1/4teaspoonsalt
4tablespoonswater
1tablespoonlime juice(we use the juice of half a lime)
Instructions
Pour the olive oil into a medium skillet and heat over medium.
Add in the chicken and use a spatula to break the meat into smaller pieces.
Dump in the water and seasonings and mix around to evenly coat the chicken.
Cook the ground chicken taco meat for about 10 minutes or until all the pieces have turned white and cooked through. You will also see some of the pieces starting to turn a golden brown under the red chili powder.
Turn of the heat and squeeze in either half or a full lim and mix around. You can skip this if you like.
Serve in tacos, quesadillas, taco salads, or any other way you like to use taco meat.
