Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 tortillas
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 non-stick spray (to spray the tops of chips and baking sheet if using)

Instructions

Making the chips

  • Place your tortilla on a flat, sturdy surface, like a cutting board.
  • Position your first cookie cutter near the edge and push firmly down on it to cut out the shape.
  • Repeat the process, leaving as little space as you can between chips to reduce waste.

For the air fryer

  • Set the air fryer to 350 for flour and 375 for corn tortillas.
  • Place the chips in the basket, leaving room between each sheet.
  • Spray with nonstick spray or oil and sprinkle on sea salt.
  • Cook flour tortillas for 7 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through; Cook corn tortillas for 6 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through.
  • Either type of tortilla chip is done when they turn golden brown.

For the oven

  • Set oven to 425 for flour and 400 for corn tortillas.
  • Prepare a cookie or baking sheet, spraying with non-stick spray.
  • Add the tortilla chips, leaving space between each chip.
  • Spray the tops with non-stick spray or oil and sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Bake flour tortillas for about 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown. Bake corn tortillas for about 16 minutes, flipping halfway through. Bake until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
