- 1 loaf Italian, French, or ciabatta bread (about 12 ounces)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese (optional)
Cut your bread into roughly 1x1 inch cubes and place into a large mixing bowl.
Pour the olive oil over the top of the bread and then spread the salt and garlic powder over the bread cubes.
Use tongs or a spoon to gently toss the bread cubes to coat them.
Sprinkle on the parmesan cheese and toss again to combine.
For the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375 F.
Prepare a cookie sheet with either aluminum foil and non-stick spray or parchment paper.
Spread the bread cubes evenly over the prepared cookie sheet.
Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the croutons turn golden brown and appear toasted.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool before using or storing.
For the Air Fryer
Spread the bread cubes in the basket of the air fryer, leaving space between each cube.
Set the air fryer to 400 F.
Cook the croutons for 6 to 10 minutes or until they turn golden brown and toasted, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking process.
Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool before storing or serving with your favorite salad or soup.
- You can make these salt free or use less salt if you like, just cut as much as you like or need.
