1 pound ground beef 1 can tomato puree 1 tablespoon garlic powder 3 tablespoons Italian seasoning 1 tablespoon onion powder 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon red pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper 4-6 cloves garlic 1 cup parmesan cheese 3 tablespoons pasta water 1 pound spaghetti (can use any noodles you like)
Prepare your pasta according to the package instructions.
As the water comes to a boil, prepare the meat sauce.
Heat olive oil over medium heat and spread it around your skillet.
Add in the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula.
Spread the ground beef around the skillet and top with the herbs and spices.
Mix the ground beef as it cooks with the spice blends until well coated.
Continue to cook until the beef has fully browned.
If using a higher fat cut, drain some of the fat off, otherwise, pour the puree directly over the browned meat.
Stir to combine and allow to come to a simmer.
Add in crushed garlic and stir to combine.
Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes and then add in the parmesan cheese.
If needed, add a few tablespoons of pasta water to help thin out the sauce. If you like it thicker, you can skip this step.
Drain and plate your pasta in indivdual bowls or plates and top with meat sauce. Top with more cheese as desired.
