1 pitcher
1 mason jar
1 whisk
1 mesh strainer
1 small pot
1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup water 1 cup quartered strawberries 1/2 gallon lemonade
Clean and quarter the strawberries, removing the stems.
Pour the sugar and water into a small pot set over medium heat.
Continously stir the sugar and water until the sugar completely dissovles. This takes about 2 minutes.
Add in the strawberries and stir frequently until the berries begin to soften and deform some, releasing their juices into the simple syrup.
Remove from heat, allow to cool for 1 to 2 minutes, and then strain the simple syrup into a mason jar, measuring cup, or pitcher.
Pour a half gallon of lemonade and the simple syrup into a pitcher and stir.
Serve by pouring over glasses filled with ice. Garnish with strawberries, lemon wedges, or mint leaves if desired.
