Sauteed Mushrooms

Quick and easy sauteed mushrooms make a delicious topper for nearly any main dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/8 cup white wine
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Wash, dry, and slice the mushrooms into roughly even slices.
  • Peel and crush or mince your garlic.
  • Melt the butter over medium heat and add in the garlic.
  • Sautee the garlic for about 1 to 2 minutes or until the garlic starts to become fragrant.
  • Add in the mushrooms, white wine, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir frequently and cook until the the liquids thicken and the mushrooms have shrunk in size and have a dark brown color to them (about 8 to 10 minutes).
  • Serve over your favorite entree or as a side.
