This easy Parmesan brussel sprout recipe is a welcome side dish for just about any dinner you want to serve your family. This dish pairs nicely with roast chicken or turkey.

Here’s what you need to make parmesan brussel sprouts.
- Brussels sprouts – You’ll need to trim the ends off the brussel sprouts and quarter them.
- Butter – Butter adds a nice richness to the roasted Parmesan brussel sprouts. If you are watching how much butter you put in things, you can always add a bit more olive oil and omit the butter.
- Olive oil – Olive oil helps to give the brussel sprouts added richness and flavor.
- Lemon – Lemon helps Parmesan brussel sprouts taste a bit lighter.
- Garlic – Like brussel sprouts themselves, you can’t make garlic roasted brussel sprouts without fresh garlic.

- Salt and pepper – You can add these to taste.
You do not need any fancy kitchen equipment, but I would recommend making sure to have a sharp knife ready to slice up the brussel sprouts.
You may also want a cheese shredder/grater and a good cutting board.
How to make Parmesan brussel sprouts
1. Prepare the brussel sprouts
First, freheat oven to 400.
As the oven heats, chop the flat ends on the bottom off the brussel sprouts and chop the sprouts in half.
Discard any yellow leaves. Place halved brussel sprouts in a mixing bowl.
2. Toss it all together
Cut the butter into small cubes and then add to the bowl with brussel sprouts.
Next, add olive oil, lemon juice, pressed garlic, the grated Parmesan cheese,about half of the shredded Parmesan cheese, and salt and pepper.
Give it all a good toss to evenly distribute the ingredients.
Pour the brussel sprouts into a cast iron pan or casserole dish.
3. Roast the parmesan brussel sprouts
Roast the garlic parmesan brussel sprouts for 25 minutes.
Carefully sprinkle on remaining Parmesan cheese and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Storing roasted brussel sprouts with parmesan
Like most recipes, Parmesan brussels sprouts are best served fresh when you make them.
But you can make them ahead, particularly if room in the oven is going to be tight around the holidays or if you want to meal prep for the week.
To store, fully roast the Parmesan brussel sprouts and then place into an air tight container.
They should keep fresh for about 3 to 4 days in the fridge.
When you are ready to serve, you can warm them in the oven or microwave them for a few minutes.

- Make sure to chop the flat end off of the brussel sprouts. Its fibrous and does not taste good.
- Discard any yellowing outer leaves.
- Toss the halved brussel sprouts in a bowl with the lemon juice, olive oil, 3/4s of the cheese, and seasoning rather than adding these ingredients after the brussels are in the pan. It better distributes the flavors.
- Try to choose brussel sprouts that are closed, rather than ones that opening when shopping for brussel sprouts.

Ingredients
- 12 ounces of brussels sprouts with flat end trimmed off and chopped in half
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons or the juice of 1 lemon
- 4 cloves of garlic pressed
- 3/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese divided
- .5 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
